What medium are your original paintings?

I mainly work with acrylic paints on panel. Select series also include UV printed plexiglass acrylic. For more information about a specific piece look at the artwork description.

Will my painting be ready to hang?

All paintings on canvas or panel that are longer than 10in on any side will come with hanging hardware installed. You just need to decide where to display them! Artwork that is already framed will be described as such in the listing description.

Who owns the painting?

I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings. I retain the right to make reproductions of all the artwork I create, unless the collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork (this is in addition to purchasing the original).

The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.  

If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, please notify me in advance. I only ask for credit, and also, congratulations on your publication!

When you purchase an original painting, you have the right to display the artwork in your home or business, but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

Payments

Payments are taken through PayPal, Venmo, or Square. If you have questions about payment options, please reach out to us prior to purchasing.

Finalizing a Sale

Any order placed through the website is not binding until the work has been dispatched. Artwork listed may be withdrawn from sale at any point by the artist for reasons such as, but not limited to,  sale elsewhere or withheld for exhibition display.

Pay What You Can Payment Plan Option

Payment Plans are available for artwork priced at $500.00 or more. If interested in setting up a Payment Plan in order to purchase artwork, please contact the Artist through email before the purchase is made. Within your message, please include the title of the artwork, medium (i.e. painting, drawing or mixed media) along with the best way to reach you.

This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you.

Payment Plan Contract

After you reach out, the Artist will be in contact with you as soon as possible to discuss a payment plan option that works best for the buyer and a formal contract will be signed.

Shipping

I have placed my order, when will I receive my artwork?

Most orders will be packed and shipped within 5 business days. All pieces are shipped either through the United States Postal Service (USPS) or UPS and are tracked. Most shipments will arrive within 3-5 business days from time of shipping. 

If you need a piece by a specific date, please contact me first to make sure it can reach you in time. There may be an extra charge for rush deliveries according to your requirements.

Can I collect my artwork from your studio?

Yes, if you live in North Carolina and are willing to travel I offer in person pick up. Simply select “In Studio Pick Up” at the checkout and the shipping fees will be waived. Once you have placed your order I will email you and we can work out a time to meet at my studio in downtown Raleigh.

Return Policy

What if I order online and when it arrives I don’t like it?

I want you to be fully happy with your new artwork so I offer a Buy-Back agreement.

If a piece is not as you expect, you have 7 days to contact me by email and request a refund. Once a return has been agreed, you are responsible for packing and arranging return delivery using the same service it was sent to you. Once the piece has been safely returned we will receive a J Sanders Studio credit for your original purchase. Your refund will be the full price of your final check out price minus the cost of shipping and payment processing fees.

This credit can be used toward the purchase of another piece or product. The credit must be used within 6 months of the confirmed refund date.

What if I purchase at an in-person event but then change my mind?

Unless the item is defective, all in-person sales are final. However, in special situations refunds, item trades, or store credit may be given. Please contact me within 7 days of the purchase date through email to initiate this conversation. 

What if my piece arrives damaged?

All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days by email and if possible keep a photograph.

Digital Images

Every care has been taken to show the work as accurately as possible with regard to size and color. The image you see may be different due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings. Any variation between the image represented and the actual artwork is not deemed a fault and such inconsistencies will not be a valid reason for return.

Additional Questions

My favorite piece has sold – how can I be sure to know about new work?

Some pieces sell very quickly. Make sure you join my mailing list to find out about new work before it is added to the Shop. But, as I try not to bombard you with emails, you can also follow studio progress on Instagram or Facebook to see work coming up.

Do you do special commissions?

Yes, and I am honored you would like my artwork on your walls and in your gallery! Please send me an email to discuss your gallery and ideas.

Do you work with interior designers?

I am currently looking for designers to partner with. I would love to see my artwork in elegantly designed rooms! Please send me an email to get started. I do not offer discounts on original paintings nor do I allow my artwork to be marked up without prior written consent. However, for large orders, I am willing to offer discounts on paper and giclee canvas prints.
