Partnership Magnet Elementary Corridor Mural
601 Devereux St., Raleigh, NC 27605
Transforming an Entry Corridor into a Place of Belonging
Commissioned by the Partnership Magnet Elementary PTA, this corridor mural was designed to transform one of the school's primary hallways into an immersive experience that celebrates the spirit of the school and its community. As a space visited daily by students, staff, and prospective families, the goal was to create a memorable first impression while reinforcing the school's identity and culture.
“Small School, Big City”
Inspired by Partnership's "Small School, Big City" motto, the mural guides visitors through a symbolic journey. Bold cityscape elements represent opportunity and possibility, gradually transitioning into a canopy of trees that reflects the school's role as a nurturing place where students can learn, grow, and thrive. Two branded logo walls and key visual moments were intentionally designed to serve as landmarks for school tours, community events, and everyday celebrations.
Over time, this hallway will become more than a passageway. It will be the backdrop for first-day-of-school photos, Back-to-School Nights, family tours, and annual traditions—quietly documenting the growth of both students and the Partnership community for years to come.
Behind the Scenes of This Project
Partnership Magnet Elementary School
Partnership Magnet Elementary is a hidden gem in the heart of Raleigh where our small size, just over 300 students, allows us to truly know and teach every child as an individual. We use a unique team-teaching approach in an open-classroom environment to meet students exactly where they are. Because we’re just a short walk from downtown, our students don't just stay in the classroom; they regularly explore the city to learn from local experts and neighbors. It’s a tight-knit, collaborative community where every student is empowered to be who they are and make a real-world impact.
